Mentors:
ACAM-KC Mentor Program
ACAM-KC Mentors are individuals who have agreed to serve as a trusted resource to whom those newer to the field can turn for guidance and instruction. It is not supervision. Rather it is an opportunity for starting counselors to forge relationships with senior colleagues and access the wealth of information and experience they bring to the table. It is also a chance for seasoned counselors to seek out their peers, exchange ideas, and further enhance their own professional development.

Sample topics discussed during typical mentoring sessions may include:

  • Navigating the world of managed care, third party reimbursement
  • Where to go in Kansas City for Hypnotherapy Training
  • Becoming a Pastoral Counselor
  • Transitioning from mental health counselor to career counselor
  • Becoming a National Certified Counselor
  • Earning an LCPC designation in the State of Kansas
  • Successfully working with Psychiatrist and other mental health professionals
